Buona first opened on Cass Avenue in May 2007. In July 2021, after a few months of renovations, our Darien restaurant reopened as the first Buona to share its space with The Original Rainbow Cone. Through all of it, our catering team has kept Darien fed, from weekday office lunches to weekend graduation parties across Willowbrook, Westmont, Downers Grove, Woodridge, and Clarendon Hills.
The food we send out today still starts with Chicago’s original Italian beef, the recipe our parents served when they opened our first restaurant in 1981. We do. The Italian Beefless is our plant-based take on the classic, made from seitan and available only at Buona. It comes in boxed lunches and on pre-made sandwich trays, and you can swap it into a Buona Beef tray at no extra charge. Guests who eat vegetarian can also choose the Caprese sandwich.
What is the largest group Buona can feed?
